Mr T. Carey, Berlin
I wish you a happy new year.
I have been listening to your music since the early eightes. A friend of mine had "Blue Highway" and the first song on that album;"We wanna live" made me interested. Those days were my hardrock years and after a little digging I found out that you played the organs on the "Rising" album with Rainbow and those songs like "Tarot Woman", "Stargazer" and "A light in the dark" to mention a few.
The rest is history. I bought "Some tough city", "I won´t be home tonight" and "Blue highway" and has been a true believer since then. A few years later I found out this Planet P Project and wow... More music and a little different from the regular ones.
When i met my wife to be, she lended "The long road" and played "Dancing days" over and over again. But she was angry with the first PPP album. One song (Armaggedon?) has a baby crying in it and she was running around the appartment looking for her daughter crying and yeah I was hold responsible for that so to say. But I think I defended you well...
The years went and then I bought "The Boystown tapes" after a couple of years listening to other stuff and since this Internetstuff got a breakthrough I was all on the train again. Found truebeliever on the net and bought everything there was and got a couple of free downloads also which is very appreciated to say the least.
In 2006 I finally saw you play live and that in my hometown of Gothenburg. The year after I bought "Live in sweden" and a few songs there was from that show. Remember that the concert was the most quiet concert I ever been attended. "I can almost hear you all breathe" as you put it before "No man´s land" A great memory.
Twice has I been in Vasteras and seen two concerts. All worth while the long trip and concerts I still remembers and have fond memories from.
Your latest, "Out in Rain" has been playing in my car, house and computer the last month. Read about your struggle and was surprised. But the good songs is still there. "What I did", "A new country", "Down on me" and "Hallelujah" shines out and the last one even my son, age 8, kinda like. And I had to explain to him was it´s all about.
Well,it´s a new year and I hope to get a chance to hear more great music and to see you behind the Organ playing again.
I wish you all the best!
And oh, In my book "Blue Highway" is the best song ever. Ever.
